Bishop of Udaipur
Devprasad John Ganawa, S.V.D., was born on December 8, 1951, in Panchkui, in the Diocese of Jhabua. He received his priestly formation at St. Thomas S.V.D. Seminary in Pune and at the Pontifical Athenaeum in Pune. He made his first religious profession in the Society of the Divine Word on June 8, 1974, and his perpetual profession on June 7, 1981. He was ordained a priest on October 27, 1982. Following his priestly ordination, he held the following positions: 1982–1984: Parochial Vicar, Khandwa Cathedral; 1984–1986: Parochial Vicar in Khargone; 1986–1987: Rector of St. Thomas S.V.D. Seminary, Mhow; 1987–1992: Provincial Councilor; 1992–1995: Rector of the S.V.D. Juniorate, Palda; 1995–2001: Parish Priest of Ranapur (now in the Diocese of Jhabua); 2001–2008: Director of the Maitri Sadan Dialogue Centre, Udaipur. Since 2008: Rector of the S.V.D. Centre in Udaipur.
