Rev. Georges Khoury, currently parish priest of São Basílio and Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The bishop-elect was born in 1970 in Safita, province of Tartus, Syria, and was ordained a priest in 1999. He holds a licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Claretian University Centre of Brazil. He has held a number of pastoral roles, including parish priest of the cathedral of the eparchy of São Paulo, and parish vicar and parish priest of São Basílio and Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
