Bishop Marcos Pirán Gómez

Msgr. Marcos Pirán was born on 7 March 1961 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He carried out his studies in philosophy and theology in the Major Seminary of San Isidro, Argentina. He received priestly ordination on 9 December 1988, and was incardinated in the same diocese. From 1988 to 2000 he served as parish vicar of Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro in Rincón de Milberg and parish priest of the Sagrada Familia and of San Antonio in Carapachay, Argentina. From 2000 to 2005 he was in mission in the parish of San José in Holguín, Cuba. From 2005 to 2012 he served as parish priest of Maisí in the diocese of Guantánamo-Baracoa, Cuba. From 2012 until the present he has served as parish priest of San José, and since 2020, vicar for pastoral care of the vicariate of Holguín, Cuba.
