Bishop of Senigallia
Francesco Manenti was born in Sergnano (in the province of Cremona and the Diocese of Crema) on June 26, 1951. In 1963, he entered the Minor Seminary of Crema and subsequently pursued his studies for the priesthood at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Milan, where he obtained a Licentiate in Theology. He was ordained a priest on June 28, 1975, and incardinated into the Diocese of Crema, where he resides. He has held the following positions: Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral of Crema (1975–1985); Director of the Diocesan Catechetical Office (1985–1989); Chaplain at the parish of Cremosano (1985–1988); Chaplain at Monte Cremasco (1988–2011); Spiritual Assistant to the Daughters of Saint Angela Merici (1986–1989); Spiritual Director at the Episcopal Seminary of Crema (1988–2001); Teacher at the “Dante Alighieri” Diocesan School (1990–2001); Head of the Diocesan Spirituality Center (2001–2007); and Diocesan Director of the Family Office (2001–2009). Since 1984, he has taught Dogmatic Theology at the United Seminaries of Lodi, Crema, Cremona, and Vigevano; since 1992, he has taught Theology at the PIME Seminary in Monza; and since 2006, he has served as Vicar General. He was named a Prelate of Honour of His Holiness in 2007; since 2008, he has taught Theology at the Higher Institutes of Religious Sciences in Crema, Lodi, and Cremona. Since 2011, he has served as Parish Priest of the Most Holy Trinity parish in Crema. Furthermore, he is a member of the Commission for the Ongoing Formation of the Clergy.
