Bishop of Kalisz
Damian Bryl is Bishop of Kalisz, Poland. Damian Bryl was born on 10 February 1969 in Jarocin. After passing the maturity examinations, in 1988 he was admitted to the seminary of Poznań. On 25 May 1994 he received priestly ordination for the same archdiocese. For two years he was parochial vicar of the Parish of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Środa Wielkopolska. In the years 1996-1999 he studied moral theology at the University of Navarra, where he obtained a doctorate. In the years 1999-2001 he was parochial vicar of Corpus Domini Parish in Poznań. He then carried out various assignments: editor-in-chief of the monthly Katecheta, from 2000 to 2006; adjunct professor in the Faculty of Theology of the Adam Mickiewicz State University in Poznań, from 2006 to 2010; and editor of the scientific journal Teologia e Moralność. At the time of the source, he was spiritual director in the major seminary in Poznań, president of the Association of Spiritual Fathers in Poland, member of the archdiocesan council for the formation of priests and of the archdiocesan pastoral commission. He is an honorary canon de numero of the metropolitan chapter of Poznań.
