Archbishop Norbert José Henri Turini

Norbert José Henri Turini was born on August 30, 1954, in Cannes, in the Diocese of Nice. He completed his secondary education at the Lycée Carnot in Cannes. He then undertook university studies in biology, earning a degree. He pursued his ecclesiastical studies at the Interdiocesan Major Seminary in Marseille, concluding them with a Licentiate in Theology. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Nice on June 27, 1982. Following his ordination, he was appointed Assistant to the Diocesan Vocations Service (1982–1986), and subsequently served as Head of the Saint-Paul House for Christian students, the Diocesan Vocations Service, and the seminary's propaedeutic year (1986–1996); Episcopal Vicar for Youth Ministry (1996–2000); and concurrently, from 1999 to 2000, Parish Administrator of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste parish in Nice. From 2000 to 2004, he served as Vicar General of Nice. Appointed Bishop of Cahors on June 30, 2004, he was consecrated on October 10 of that year. Within the Episcopal Conference, he is a member of the Episcopal Commission for Ordained Ministers and Lay People in Ecclesial Mission.
