Archbishop of San Juan de Cuyo
Jorge Eduardo Lozano was born in Buenos Aires on February 10, 1955; he pursued his ecclesiastical studies at the seminary in the same city and was ordained a priest on December 3, 1982. He served as a parochial vicar in two parishes (1983–1988), archdiocesan assistant for Catholic Action youth (1983–1993), vice-president of the archdiocesan commission for parochial educational institutions (1990–1992), parish priest, and archdiocesan delegate for the preparation of the Great Jubilee of 2000. On January 4, 2000, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Fornos Maggiore and Auxiliary Bishop of Buenos Aires, receiving episcopal ordination on March 25 of that year. Within the Argentine Episcopal Conference, he is a member of the Episcopal Commission for the Lay Apostolate and Family Pastoral Care.
