Bishop of Kimberley
Duncan Theodore Tsoke was born on April 15, 1964, in Daveyton, in the Archdiocese of Johannesburg. He studied Philosophy at the Hammanskraal Major Seminary in Pretoria (1988–1990) and Theology at the St. John Vianney National Major Seminary (1991–1994). He also obtained a diploma in the Management of Church Assets (2010) in Nairobi, Kenya. He was ordained a priest on December 2, 1995, for the Archdiocese of Johannesburg. Subsequently, he held the following positions: 1995–1999: Parochial Vicar at St. Francis of Assisi in Yeoville, Johannesburg, and head of youth ministry; 1999–2000: Formator and lecturer in Spirituality at St. Peter’s Seminary in Garsfontein, Pretoria; 2000–2009: Episcopal Vicar for Evangelization, Assistant Vicar for vocation ministry, and concurrently Parish Priest of St. Albert in Vosloorus and the Holy Family in Ponong, Johannesburg (2000–2004), and Parish Administrator of St. Anthony Pucci (2006–2007); since 2009: Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Johannesburg and Parish Priest of the Holy Family in Turffontein.
