Bishop of Bayeux-Lisieux
Bishop Jacques Habert was born on 2 May 1960 in Saint-Malo, in the archdiocese of Rennes. After his secondary studies, he was awarded a licentiate in public law from the University of Paris XII. In 1984 he entered the Séminaire des Carmes of Paris and carried out his formation in philosophy and theology at the Institut Catholique de Paris, concluding with a licentiate in sacred theology. He was ordained a priest on 30 September 1989 for the diocese of Créteil. On 28 October 2010 he was appointed as bishop of Sées and received episcopal consecration on 9 January 2011. Within the Conference of Bishops of France he is a member of the Council for Movements and Associations of Faithful and is the bishop of reference for the rural mission of the Church in France. He has also served as head of the working group Les églises, un nouvel enjeu pastoral.
