Bishop of Quimper(-Léon)
Laurent Dognin was born in Paris on January 3, 1953. After completing his secondary education at the Catholic Collège Stanislas, he entered the Saint-Sulpice Seminary in Issy-les-Moulineaux, where he received his philosophical and theological training for the priesthood. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Nanterre on June 15, 1980. He subsequently served as an associate pastor at Saint-Justin de Levallois (1980–1986) and later at Sainte-Geneviève d’Asnières, eventually becoming its pastor (1986–1997). He then served as pastor of Saint-Pierre et Saint-Jacques in Neuilly (1997–2006). From 2002 to 2007, he was the leader of the *Jésus Caritas* Priestly Fraternity for Normandy and Île-de-France. In 2006, he was appointed leader for Europe. Concurrently, he served as Episcopal Vicar for the Central Sector of the Diocese of Nanterre; from 2006 until his appointment as a bishop, he also served as Vicar General and diocesan head for Catholic education, consecrated life, and lay ministry. On January 5, 2011, he was appointed to the titular see of Macriana in Mauretania and named Auxiliary Bishop of Bordeaux. He received episcopal ordination on February 27 of that same year.
