Vicar Apostolic of San Andrés y Providencia
Monsignor Jaime Uriel Sanabria Arias was born in the municipality of Ciénega, Boyacá (Archdiocese of Tunja), on April 17, 1970, the son of José del Carmen Sanabria and Rosalbina Arias Soler. He completed his basic education at the José Cayetano Vásquez School in his hometown. He entered the Major Seminary of the Archdiocese of Tunja, where he pursued studies in philosophy and theology. He was ordained a priest on November 19, 1994. He undertook pastoral studies, specifically with the Movement for a Better World and the Diocesan Plan for Renewal and Evangelization. He served as Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Action for the Archdiocese of Tunja (2008–2016). On April 16, 2016, he was appointed Apostolic Vicar of San Andrés and Providencia. His episcopal ordination took place on May 22, 2016, and he took possession of the assigned Vicariate on June 25, 2016.
