Bishop of Dungu-Doruma
Emile Mushosho Matabaro was born on March 5, 1967, in Bukavu. He attended the propaedeutic seminary in Mugeri-Katana, the Mgr Busimba Major Seminary in Goma, and subsequently the Saint Pius X Major Seminary in Murhesa. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Bukavu on September 17, 2000. From 2007 to 2012, he obtained a Licentiate in Theology, and from 2013 to 2017, a Doctorate in Theology from the Universidad San Dámaso (UESD) in Madrid. He held the following positions: parochial vicar and parish priest in Ciherano (2000–2003); parish priest of Saint Pierre in Cibimbi (2003–2007) and of the Bagira parish (2011); Director of the Diocesan Office for Social Works and Development (2011–2012); President of the Diocesan Clergy Union (2011–2013); Bursar and Moderator of the Diocesan Commission for Assets (2017–2018); Episcopal Vicar for Economic Affairs and Chancellor (2018–2019); and Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Bukavu (2019–2021). Since 2021, he has served as Apostolic Administrator (*sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis*) of the Diocese of Doruma-Dungu.
