Archbishop of Anchorage-Juneau
Bishop Andrew Eugene Bellisario, C.M., Archbishop of Anchorage-Juneau, Alaska, USA, was born on 19 December 1956 in Los Angeles, California, in the archdiocese of the same name. After attending Saint Stephen Elementary School in Monterey Park from 1963 to 1971 and Saint Vincent Minor Seminary in Montebello from 1971 to 1975, he entered the Congregation of the Mission in Santa Barbara in 1975. He completed philosophical studies at Saint Mary Seminary in Perryville, Missouri, from 1976 to 1980 and theological studies at DeAndreis Seminary in Lemont, Illinois, from 1980 to 1984. He was ordained a priest on 16 June 1984 for the Congregation of the Mission at Saint Vincent's Parish in Los Angeles. After priestly ordination he held the following offices: dean of students at Saint Vincent Minor Seminary in Montebello, California, from 1984 to 1986; parochial vicar from 1986 to 1989 and parish administrator from 1989 to 1990 of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish in Montebello; pastor of Saint Vincent de Paul Parish in Huntington Beach, California, from 1990 to 1995 and of Sacred Heart Parish in Patterson, California, from 1995 to 1998; treasurer and consultor of the province from 1996 to 2002; director of the De Paul Evangelization Center in Montebello from 1998 to 2002; superior of the De Paul Center Residence in Montebello from 2001 to 2002; provincial from 2002 to 2010; director of the Daughters of Charity in Los Altos, California, from 2003 to 2015; pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Co-Cathedral in Anchorage, Alaska, from 2014 to 2017; and superior of the International Missions in Alaska from 2015 to 2017. Appointed Bishop of Juneau on 11 July 2017, he received episcopal consecration on the following 10 October. On 7 June 2019 he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Anchorage.
