Archbishop David William Valencia Antonio

Msgr. David William Valencia Antonio was born in Nagtupacan, Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur, on 29 December 1963. He attended philosophy classes at the “San Pablo Seminary” of Baguio City, and theology courses at the “Immaculate Conception School of Theology” in Vigan City. He then completed his studies at the “Catholic University of America” in Washington, obtaining a doctorate in S. theology. He was ordained a priest on 1 December 1988 for the archdiocese of Nueva Segovia. After a few years as professor at the “Immaculate Conception School of Theology” of Vigan, in Iloco Sur, in 1993 he was appointed dean of studies, and then rector of the same seminary. In 2005 he became pastor of the parish of Saint Lucia, at Iloco Sur, and later vicar general of the archdiocese of Nueva Segovia. On 15 June 2011 he was appointed as titular bishop of Basti and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Nueva Segovia, receiving episcopal ordination on 26 August 2011. On 22 March 2018 he was also nominated as apostolic administrator sede vacante of the apostolic vicariate of San José in Mindoro.
