Bishop Andrew Raksam Marak

Andrew Marak was born on February 5, 1950, in Chimagre, Norgwalbibra, in the Garo Hills of Meghalaya State—within the territory of what was then the Archdiocese of Shillong and is now the Diocese of Tura. He studied pastoral theology both in his home country and in the Philippines. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Tura on February 10, 1982. He has served as a parochial vicar, parish priest, Vicar General, Defender of the Bond and Promoter of Justice at the Matrimonial Tribunal, member of the College of Consultors, diocesan officer in charge of catechist training, diocesan coordinator of Basic Christian Communities, and editor of the diocesan monthly publication "Sengbaa."
