Archbishop of Hajdúdorog (Hungarian)
Fülöp Kocsis was born on January 13, 1963, in Szeged, within the Eparchy of Hajdúdorog. After completing his studies at the Seminary of Nyíregyháza, he was ordained a priest on August 2, 1989. Subsequently, he studied at the Faculty of Education Sciences of the Pontifical Salesian University. From 1992 to 1995, he served as a parish priest in the Apostolic Exarchate of Miskolc. From 1995 to 1999, he lived a monastic life at the Benedictine Monastery in Chevetogne (Belgium). In 1999, together with his confrere Msgr. Atanáz Orosz—who had previously served as Apostolic Exarch of Miskolc—he founded a monastic community in Damóc, subject to the Bishop of Hajdúdorog. On May 2, 2008, the Holy Father Benedict XVI appointed him Eparchial Bishop of Hajdúdorog and, at the same time, Apostolic Administrator *ad nutum Sanctae Sedis* of the Apostolic Exarchate of Miskolc.
