Archbishop Ján Orosch

Ján Orosch was born on May 28, 1953, in Bratislava. He prepared for the priesthood at the Major Seminary of the Archdiocese of Bratislava-Trnava, where he was ordained a priest on June 6, 1976. He served as a parochial vicar in Komárno (1976–1978). From 1978 to 1990, he served as parish administrator in Bušince, Okoč, Hodruša-Hámre, and Vyškovce nad Ipľom. Subsequently, he served as parish priest in Nové Zámky, Bratislava-Prievoz, Čuňovo, and Štúrovo. On April 2, 2004, he was elected Auxiliary Bishop of Bratislava-Trnava, and he received episcopal ordination on May 2, 2004. In 2008, upon the creation of the Archdiocese of Trnava, he was assigned as an auxiliary bishop to that see. On July 2, 2012, he was appointed Apostolic Administrator *sede vacante* of Trnava.
