For more than 30 years, members of the Church of St. Anastasia have been reaching out to the homeless of the Bowery area of New York City. The outreach involves about 60 parishioners. Every Friday morning teams of parishioners assemble in the rectory and make about 400 sandwiches to be distributed in the Bowery the following day. On Saturday morning, different teams take these sandwiches along with pastries, hot coffee, and hearty soup to a street corner in the Bowery section of lower Manhattan.

As your Local Safe Environment Coordinator it is my responsibility to ensure the volunteers in ministry with minors and employees in our parish have the required Safe Environment documentation on file. For Volunteers (in ministry with minors): a completed Volunteer application; signed Archdiocesan Code of Conduct; proof of Protecting God's Children certification/recertification and a current Sterling Volunteers background check. For Employees: a completed Employee application; signed Archdiocesan Code of Conduct; proof of Protecting God's Children certification/recertification; and a current Sterling Backcheck background check.

The mission of St. Anastasia's Youth Ministry is to continue Faith Formation beyond the classroom and into the world we live in. Activities are designed to enhance the faith life of teens in grades 8-12 through interactive experiences, community service and just plain fun. Our Youth Ministry group meets every Thursday evening, 7pm-8pm, in the Little Church. New members are always welcome.
