Adult Choir

Music

Meets Tuesday evenings for practice and ministers at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass. Also sings on days of special celebration.

Altar Servers

Liturgical

Young people trained to assist the priest and deacon at the altar and help lead the congregation in prayer.

Bereavement Group

Bereavement

Meets at various times through the year to provide mutual support to those who have lost loved ones.

Blood Drives

Social Justice & Outreach

Three blood drives held per year: one parish-sponsored and one sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

Cantors

Music

Lead the congregation in sung prayer, especially proclaiming the Psalm response to the first reading.

Catholic Youth Organization (CYO)

Youth & Young Adult

Develops young people through religious development, service to others, socialization, cultural awareness, and sports. Grade school and high school levels.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

Liturgical

At the Sunday 10:00 AM Mass during school year for children ages 5 through 10. Children gather in separate worship space during Liturgy of the Word from the Children's Lectionary.

Decorating Volunteers

Liturgical

Volunteers needed before special celebrations such as Easter and Christmas to help decorate the Church.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Liturgical

Administer the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and take Eucharist to shut-ins at home weekly and patients in Frankford Torresdale Hospital monthly. Commission by Bishop required.

Finance Council

Parish Governance & Administration

Advises the pastor regarding administration of temporal goods of the parish. Reviews yearly budget and annual financial report.

Food Drives

Social Justice & Outreach

Held at various times of the year to provide for those in need.

Garden Club

Hospitality

Beautifies the parish grounds with seasonal plantings and tends to the plants used in the church.

Holy Dusters (Church Cleaners)

Liturgical

Gathers after Thursday morning Mass to care for the church: vacuuming, dusting, refilling holy water fonts, tending plants.

Fraternal & Service

Catholic men serving the Church. General meetings held on second Wednesday of each month in the rectory.

Lectors

Liturgical

Proclaim readings at Mass and other liturgical celebrations, and lead general intercessions. Training arranged for new lectors.

Pastoral Council

Parish Governance & Administration

Voice of the parish people; brings concerns to the pastor, serves as consultative body giving the parish direction. Elections held annually.

Pre-Cana Team

Family & Marriage

Offers fast-paced interactive day of marriage preparation twice a year. Team consists of married couples sharing experiences of living the sacrament with engaged couples.

PREP (Parish Religious Education Program)

Faith formation

CCD/PREP for students who attend public school. Classes on Sundays. Sacramental preparation includes Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation. Special needs class available.

Respect for Life

Pro-Life

Promotes respect for all life from conception to natural death, with emphasis during Respect Life Sunday in October and Mothers Day.

Rosary Group

Prayer & Devotional

Led by Knights of Columbus, gathers each Monday to pray the Rosary.

St. Martha Seniors

Fraternal & Service

Meets regularly for companionship and support. Celebrations and trips included. Open to anyone aged 55 and over.

Ushers/Greeters

Hospitality

Welcome people to the church, help take up the offering, respond to emergencies, and maintain liturgical order.

Youth Choir

Music

Students in grades 4 through 8. Sings at school Masses and special parish celebrations.
