Bishop of Harrisburg
Bishop Timothy C. Senior was born on 22 March 1960 in Philadelphia, in the archdiocese of the same name. He attended the Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook, Pennsylvania, where he was awarded a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in theology. He received priestly ordination on 18 Mary 1985, and was incardinated in the archdiocese of Philadelphia. After ordination, he first held the offices of parish vicar of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish in Feasterville (1985-1988); adjunct director of the Office for Youth Pastoral Care (1987-1988); and teacher at Archbishop Kennedy High School (1988-1989). He then obtained a master’s degree in administration and social work at Boston College (1992). He went on to serve as deputy secretary (1992-1997) and archdiocesan secretary (1997-2004) of Catholic Human Services, and vicar for the clergy (2004-2009). He was appointed titular bishop of Floriana and auxiliary of Philadelphia on 8 June 2009, and received episcopal consecration the following 31 July. As auxiliary of Philadelphia, he was vicar general and moderator of the Curia (2009-2012), rector (2012-2022), and chancellor (since 2022) of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, and episcopal vicar of Montgomery County and South Philadelphia.
