Bishop of Aguascalientes
Juan Espinoza Jiménez was born in La Piedad, Michoacán (Archdiocese of Morelia), on May 11, 1965. He pursued his studies in philosophy and theology at the Seminary of Morelia. He was ordained a priest on January 31, 1993, and incardinated into the Archdiocese of Morelia. Subsequently, he served as a formator at the Minor Seminary of Morelia and as chaplain of the "Nuestra Señora de la Salud" Hospital. In 1996, he continued his ecclesiastical studies at the Pontifical Salesian University, where he obtained a Licentiate in Educational Sciences. From 2001 to 2009, he worked as a staff member at the Congregation for Bishops. Upon returning to Mexico, he served as a professor at the Major Seminary, coordinator of the diocesan commission for the clergy, and chaplain of the Passionist Sisters' formation house in Morelia.
