Archbishop of Malanje
Luzizila Kiala, of the clergy of Uije, was born on November 19, 1963, in Damba, in the Diocese of Uije. After completing his primary and secondary education, he was admitted to the São Paulo Seminary in Uije, where he received his training in philosophy. He pursued his theological studies at the Cristo Re Major Seminary in Huambo. He was ordained a priest on August 23, 1992. Subsequently, he obtained a doctorate in Spiritual Theology in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University (1997–2001). Following his ordination, he held the following positions: Parish Administrator of Songo, Bembe, and Caipemba (1992–1994); external spiritual director of the Uije Seminary (1994–1997); Parochial Vicar of Bembe; member of the Presbyteral Council; member of the College of Consultors; member of the Council for Economic Affairs; resident Spiritual Director of the Uije Seminary; Vicar Forane; President of the diocesan commissions for Migration, Liturgy, and Sacred Music; Episcopal Vicar; Seminary professor (2001–2008); Vicar General of the Diocese of Uije; Parish Priest of the Cathedral; and ecclesiastical assistant for the *Associação Cristã dos Gestores e Dirigentes* (ACGD) in the Diocese of Uije (since 2008).
