Bishop of Saint Thomas the Apostle of Detroit (Chaldean)
Frank Kalabat was born in Kuwait on May 13, 1970. In 1989, he entered Saint Francis Seminary in San Diego (USA) and subsequently pursued theological studies at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit (USA). Ordained a priest on July 5, 1995, he was appointed parochial vicar of Mother of God Church in Southfield, Michigan. Since 2001, he has served as pastor of Saint Thomas in Detroit, Director of the Eparchial Vocations Center, and head of the Re-evangelization Center. He speaks Arabic, English, and Chaldean, and has knowledge of Spanish and Aramaic.
