Vicar Apostolic of Pucallpa
He was born in Alija, in the Diocese of Huaraz, Peru, on March 7, 1969. He completed his schooling at the Salesian School and the Salesian Aspirantate in Lima. Following his novitiate, he professed as a Salesian of Don Bosco on January 31, 1988. He studied Philosophy in Lima (1992–1993) and Theology in Santiago, Chile (1994–1998). He made his perpetual profession on January 31, 1995, and was ordained a priest on November 22, 1997. He has held the following positions: Councilor of the San Juan Bosco community in the Rímac district (1998–2000); Vicar of the San Juan Bosco community in Rímac (2000–2001); Parish Priest of María Auxiliadora in the settlement of Quebrada Honda, Cusco (2001–2005); person in charge of the Quebrada Honda community (2001–2003); Provincial Delegate for missions for the Quebrada Honda community (2001–2008); Director of that same Salesian religious community (2004–2008); and Provincial Delegate for missionary animation for that community (2006–2008). From 2008 to 2010, he served as Director and Bursar of the San Francisco de Sales Community in the Breña district. He also served as a Provincial Councilor in Rome (2008–2011) and as Provincial Delegate for missions (2009–2012). Furthermore, from 2010 to 2016, he was the Director of the Monte Salvado Community in Cusco, serving also as its Bursar in 2011. Since 2016, he has been the Director of the San Lorenzo Community in Yurimaguas, and since 2017, a Provincial Councilor for that community.
