Archbishop of Poitiers
Archbishop Jérôme Daniel Beau, Archbishop of Poitiers, France, has been Archbishop of Poitiers since 2025. He was born on 24 December 1957, was ordained a priest on 23 June 1984, was appointed bishop on 01 June 2006, and was consecrated bishop on 08 September 2006. He is metropolitan archbishop of the Province of Poitiers, a member of the Council for Resources and Means, and reference bishop for Reception, Counsel and Conciliation / Control and Sectarian Deviations. His formation included the 1er and 2e cycles of the seminary of Issy-les-Moulineaux, and a baccalaureate in theology and maîtrise in theology at the Institut Catholique de Paris. His ministries included vicar at Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Parish and chaplain of the Edgar-Quinet and Jacques-Decour high school from 1984 to 1989; vicar at Saint-Denys du Saint-Sacrement Parish and director at the diocesan seminary of Paris from 1989 to 1993; diocesan chaplain of the Eucharistic Youth Movement, MEJ, from 1990 to 1993; pastor of Saint-Séverin Parish, director at the diocesan seminary of Paris, and head of Maison Saint-Séverin from 1993 to 2001; superior of the diocesan seminary of Paris and diocesan delegate for seminarians from 2001 to 2006; director of the Œuvre des vocations from 2003 to 2018; member of the college of consultors from 2004 to 2006; auxiliary bishop and vicar general of the Archdiocese of Paris from 2006 to 2018; president of the Council for Ordained Ministers and Lay People on Ecclesial Mission from 2017 to 2023; Archbishop of Bourges from 2018 to 2025; member of the Council for Pastoral Care of Children and Youth from 2023 to 2024; and member of the Council for Resources and Means from 2024 to 2025.
