Bishop of Cassano all'Jonio
Francesco Savino was born in Bitonto (Bari) on November 13, 1954. After completing his classical high school education in 1973, he entered the Pontifical Regional Seminary of Puglia and obtained a Licentiate in Theology in 2000 as a student of the Theological Institute of Puglia. He was ordained a priest on August 24, 1978, and is incardinated in the Archdiocese of Bari-Bitonto. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of San Silvestro-Crocifisso (1978–1985); Parish Priest of Cristo Re Universale in Bitonto (1985–1989); and Parish Priest-Rector of the Parish-Shrine of the Holy Physician-Martyrs (Ss. Medici) in Bitonto (1985–present). He is a member of the College of Consultors, the Diocesan Presbyteral Council, and the Ministry of Health’s Commission on Palliative Care. He serves as Director of the quarterly magazine *Eco dei Santi Medici* and also directs the book series *Scrigni/contenuti preziosi su fogli leggeri* ("Caskets/precious contents on light pages"), published by the "Ed insieme" publishing house in Terlizzi. Furthermore, he is the founder of the "Fondazione Opera Santi Medici Cosma e Damiano – Bitonto – ONLUS."
