Bishop of Tallinn
Philippe Jourdan was born in Dax, France, on August 30, 1960. In 1983, he earned an engineering degree from the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in France; in 1987, he obtained a doctorate in philosophy from the University of the Holy Cross in Rome. He was ordained a priest on August 20, 1988, and is incardinated in the Prelature of the Holy Cross and Opus Dei. In 1988, Msgr. Jourdan served as chaplain at the Aldeafuente school in Madrid; from 1989 to 1993, he was chaplain at the Centre Culturel Garnelles in Paris; and from 1992 to 1995, he was responsible for pastoral care at various student residences in the French capital, where he also collaborated with several parishes and taught philosophy between 1989 and 1995. Since 1996, he has been active in the Apostolic Administration of Estonia, where he currently holds the position of Vicar General. Msgr. Jourdan is fluent in French, Estonian, Russian, English, German, and Spanish.
