Bishop of Daloa
Marcellin Yao Kouadio was born in Vavoua, in the Diocese of Daloa, on January 10, 1960. After completing his primary education, he continued his studies in Daloa and, subsequently, at the St. Viateur College in Bouaké. He entered the Major Seminary of Philosophy in Abadjin-Kouté and completed his theological studies at the Major Seminary of Anyama. He was ordained a priest on December 29, 1990. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1991–1994: Parochial Vicar and later Parish Priest of Zuenoula; 1994–2001: studies in Rome, earning a Doctorate in Missiology from the Gregorian University and a Licentiate in Biblical Theology from the Urbaniana University; 2002–2006: Diocesan Director of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Daloa and Sunday Vicar in various parishes, including the Cathedral; from 2007 to the present: National Director of Catholic Education, residing at the Major Seminary of Abadjin-Kouté; since 2008, he has also served as a part-time lecturer at the Major Seminary of Anyama.
