Archbishop of Uberaba
Father Paulo Mendes Peixoto was born on February 25, 1951, in Imbé, in the Diocese of Caratinga (Brazil). He pursued his studies in philosophy and theology at the Saint Pius X Seminary in Caratinga and holds a Licentiate degree in History and Canon Law. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Caratinga on December 7, 1979. Subsequently, he served as a parish administrator in Vermelho Novo, Caputira, Iapu, Imbé de Minas, and Santa Bárbara do Leste; as a parish priest in Carangola; and as chaplain of the Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora Hospital. He also served as the seminary's bursar. He is a member of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors, a lecturer in Canon Law at the seminary, and a judge at the diocesan ecclesiastical tribunal. He currently serves as the spiritual director of the diocesan seminary in Caratinga.
