Archbishop of Koupéla
Gabriel Sayaogo was born on January 9, 1962, in Niességa, in the Diocese of Ouahigouya. He pursued his studies both in his home country and in Italy at the Pontifical Urban University, where he obtained a degree in Canon Law. He was ordained a priest on July 13, 1991, and incardinated into the Diocese of Ouahigouya. He subsequently held the following positions: 1991–1997: Parochial Vicar of the Cathedral of Ouahigouya; 1997–2001: Studies for a degree in Canon Law at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome; 2001–2004: Parish Priest of the Cathedral of Ouahigouya; 2003–2007: Professor of Canon Law at the Major Seminary of Koumi; 2007–2009: Vicar General of the Diocese of Ouahigouya; 2009–2010: Apostolic Administrator of Ouahigouya; since 2010: Vicar General of the Diocese of Ouahigouya.
