Archbishop of Torino
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Turin and from the role of Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Susa, submitted by H.E. Msgr. Cesare Nosiglia, and has appointed Roberto Repole—a priest of the same Metropolitan Archdiocese, and until now a Canon and lecturer—as Metropolitan Archbishop of Turin and Bishop of Susa, uniting the two Sees *in persona Episcopi* (in the person of the Bishop). Msgr. Repole was born on January 29, 1967, in Turin, in the province and Archdiocese of the same name. After completing his secondary studies at the Minor Seminary, he was admitted to the Archdiocesan Seminary of Turin, where he pursued philosophical and theological studies. He completed his formation by obtaining a Licentiate and a Doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He was ordained a priest on June 13, 1992. He has held the following positions: Parochial Vicar (1992–1996); Lecturer in Systematic Theology at the Theological Faculty of Turin and the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences of Turin (1996–present); Canon of the Royal Church of San Lorenzo (2010–present); President of the Italian Theological Association (2011–2016); Dean of the Turin Section of the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy (2016–present); and Member of the Board of Directors of the Holy See’s Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of Quality in Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties (AVEPRO) (2016–present). He served as Diocesan Coordinator for University Pastoral Care and, for a five-year term, as a member of the Diocesan Ecumenical Commission. He currently assists at the Parish of Santa Maria della Stella in Druento (Turin), serves as Diocesan Ecclesiastical Assistant for the Ecclesial Movement for Cultural Commitment (MEIC), and is a member of the Presbyteral Council.
