Bishop of Concordia-Pordenone
Bishop Giuseppe Pellegrini, Bishop of Concordia-Pordenone, was born on November 10, 1953, in Monteforte d'Alpone, in the province and Diocese of Verona. He attended the minor and major seminaries of Verona and then took a degree in sociology. He was ordained a priest for Verona on June 2, 1979. He then served as parochial vicar at Bovolone (1979-1983); assistant of the theological seminary (1983-1993); diocesan assistant of Catholic Action (1993-1996); director of the diocesan office for youth ministry (1994-1998); in the service of the Italian Episcopal Conference for the Jubilee (1998-2000); lecturer in the sociology of religion at the San Zeno Theological Institute of Verona (1991-2006); vice-director of the National Office for Missionary Cooperation, vice-national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies and national assistant of the Missionary Youth Movement (2000-2006); and director of the National Office for Missionary Cooperation, national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies and director general of Missio (2006-2008). From 2007 he was vicar general of the Diocese of Verona, and since 2004 he has been a chaplain of His Holiness. He is the author of several pastoral aids. On February 25, 2011, he was appointed Bishop of Concordia-Pordenone. He received episcopal ordination on March 26, 2011, at Verona, with Giuseppe Zenti as principal consecrator and Ovidio Poletto and Domenico Sigalini as co-consecrators. He was installed as Bishop of Concordia-Pordenone on April 10, 2011.
