Bishop of Borba
Zenildo Luiz Pereira da Silva was born on June 6, 1968, in Linhares, in the Diocese of Colatina (Espírito Santo). After moving to Cacoal, in the state of Rondônia, he professed religious vows on December 27, 1997, in the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) and was ordained a priest on August 11, 2001, in Cacoal. He attended the CENESCH (Center for the Study of Human Behavior) in Manaus (1994–2000), studying Philosophy and Theology. He held the following positions: Parish Priest of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré in Manacapuru, Diocese of Coari (2001–2008); Parish Priest of Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro in Manaus (2008–2011); Superior of the Redemptorist Vice-Province of the Amazon (2011–2014); and Parish Priest of the Cathedral of Santana and São Sebastião in Coari (2014–2016). On February 24, 2016, he was appointed Coadjutor Prelate Bishop of Borba, receiving episcopal ordination on the following April 2. He has served as Prelate Bishop of Borba since September 20, 2017.
