Archbishop Djalwana Laurent Lompo

Djalwana Laurent Lompo was born on January 1, 1967, in Koulbou, within the Saint Francis of Assisi parish in Makalondi, in the Archdiocese of Niamey. He studied philosophy and theology in Burkina Faso, attending the Saint John the Baptist Major Seminary in Ouagadougou and the Saint Peter Claver Major Seminary in Bobo-Dioulasso, respectively. He obtained a diploma in education from the *Institut de Formation des Educateurs du Clergé* in Paris. He was ordained a priest on September 21, 1997, and incardinated into the Archdiocese of Niamey. He subsequently held the following positions: 1997–2000: Parochial Vicar of Saint Gabriel Parish in Niamey and Director of the *Foyer Samuel* for vocations; 2001–2002: Training in spiritual accompaniment at the *Institut de Formation des Educateurs du Clergé* in Paris; 2002–2003: Director of the *Foyer Samuel* for vocations; from 2003: Vicar General.
