Archbishop of Nagasaki
Archbishop Peter Michiaki Nakamura, Archbishop of Nagasaki, was born on March 21, 1962, in Saikai, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, in the Diocese of Nagasaki. He was ordained a priest for Nagasaki on March 19, 1988. On May 31, 2019, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Fessae and Auxiliary Bishop of Nagasaki. He received episcopal ordination on September 16, 2019, at Nagasaki, with Joseph Mitsuaki Takami as principal consecrator and Thomas Aquino Manyo Maeda and Paul Sueo Hamaguchi as co-consecrators. On December 28, 2021, he was appointed Archbishop of Nagasaki. He was installed as Archbishop of Nagasaki on February 23, 2022.
