Archbishop José Manuel Imbamba

José Manuel Imbamba was born in Boma, in the province of Moxico and the diocese of Lwena, on January 7, 1965. After completing his philosophical and theological studies at the Major Seminary of Luanda in 1991, he was ordained a priest on December 29 of that same year. He is the first priest of the diocese of Lwena. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: Parish Priest of Lwena Cathedral and Diocesan Caritas Delegate (1992–1995); student at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical Urban University in Rome (1995–1999); Vicar General of Lwena, Director of the Diocesan Pastoral Secretariat, and teacher of Philosophy at the *Istituto Medio Normale di Educazione* (IMNE) and of Portuguese language at the *Istituto Medio di Sanità* (IMS) (1999–2000). Since 2001, he has served as Secretary General of the Catholic University of Luanda and as a professor of Philosophy at the Major Seminary of Luanda.
