Bishop of Kikwit
Timothée Bodika Mansiyai is Bishop of Kikwit, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Timothée Bodika Mansiyai, Sulpician, was born on 1 January 1962 in Kinshasa. After secondary studies at Bonsomi College, formerly Pie XII College, of the Jesuits in N'djili, Kinshasa, he entered Saint André Kaggwa Major Seminary in Kinshasa for philosophy studies and then Jean Paul I University Seminary in Kinshasa for theology studies, also obtaining a licentiate. On 1 August 1990 he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Kinshasa. Since 1993 he has been a member of the Society of the Sulpician Fathers. After priestly ordination he held the following offices: 1990-1991, interim parish priest at Saint Cyprien; 1990-1992, bursar and professor of moral theology at Jean XXIII Major Seminary and other religious institutes; 1992-1993, Sulpician Solitude formation in Lyon, France; 1993-2001, spiritual director and professor at Jean XXIII Major Seminary and at the same time chaplain of a leprosarium in Kinshasa; 2000, initiator of the cultural and spiritual project for peace in the DRC, Cri du Congo; 2001-2005, formator in the Regional Seminary of Toulouse in France; 2001-2007, doctorate in moral theology at the Catholic Institute of Toulouse in France. From 2007 he was rector of Saint André Kaggwa Seminary, professor of philosophy and moral theology, and general councillor of the Society of the Sulpician Fathers.
