Bishop of Namibe
Dionisio Hisiilenapo was born on October 6, 1966, in Epumbu, in the Diocese of Ondjiva. Before beginning his journey toward the priesthood, he worked as a nurse at the Chiulo Catholic Mission Hospital. After completing preparatory studies in Lubango and entering the Major Seminary in Luanda, he was ordained a priest on December 6, 1998, and incardinated into the Diocese of Ondjiva. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1998–2000: Head of the Okanautoni-Cuamato Mission; 2000–2003: Studies for a Licentiate in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University; 2003–2008: Superior of the same mission where he had previously served (Okanautoni-Cuamato) and professor at the diocesan preparatory seminary; member of the diocesan commissions for biblical pastoral care, youth and vocation ministry, and family ministry. Since 2008, he has served as Executive Secretary of the Episcopal Conference of Angola and São Tomé (CEAST) and as Chaplain to the Catholic Association of Managers and Executives. He is also currently a member of the CEAST Press Office.
