Eparchy of Pathanamthitta (Syro-Malankara)

Samuel Mar Irenios (Kattukallil) was born on May 13, 1952, in Kadammanitta, Kerala. He was ordained a priest on December 22, 1978, and served as a parish priest in various parishes. He was the editor-in-chief of *Christhava Kahalam*, the official publication of the Syro-Malankara Major Archeparchy of Trivandrum, and taught at several academic institutions in Kerala. He served as *Syncellus* (Episcopal Vicar) of the Syro-Malankara Major Archeparchy of Trivandrum from 2007 to 2010. On January 25, 2010, he was elected Auxiliary Bishop of Trivandrum, and he received episcopal consecration on March 13 of the same year. On April 10, 2018, he was elected Coadjutor Bishop of the Eparchy of Pathanamthitta. Samuel Kattukallil was born in Kadammanitta, in the Pathanamthitta District of Kerala, on May 13, 1952. After attending St. Joseph’s Seminary in Alwaye, he was ordained a priest for the Major Archeparchy of Trivandrum on December 22, 1978. He holds a degree in Malayalam Literature from Kerala University; he has served as Principal of Mar Ivanios College, Vice-Rector of the Minor Seminary, parish priest of Anchal, and coordinator of various pastoral initiatives. He currently serves as *Syncellus* of the Major Archeparchy of Trivandrum.
