Bishop Antonio De Luca

Antonio De Luca, C.SS.R., was born in Torre del Greco (Archdiocese and Province of Naples) on July 1, 1956. After professing his first vows in the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer on September 29, 1973, he pursued philosophical and theological studies, first with the Salesians in Castellammare di Stabia and later at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy in Posillipo, obtaining a Licentiate in Theology with a specialization in Moral Theology. He was ordained a priest at Colle Sant’Alfonso (Torre del Greco) on July 5, 1981. Following his ordination, he held the following pastoral roles: Director of the Redemptorist Missionary School (1981–1990); parish collaborator at the Parish of the Most Holy Crucifix in Torre del Greco (1983–1999); Prefect of Philosophy and Theology students at Colle Sant’Alfonso (1990–1999); Superior of the Redemptorist Student Community and Provincial Secretary for Formation (1993–1999); Dean of the 12th Deanery of the Archdiocese of Naples, Director of the Training School for pastoral workers, and Lecturer in Moral Theology for pastoral workers (1998–2003); and Provincial Superior for Campania (1999–2008). Since 2001, he has served as President of the C.I.S.M. (Conference of Major Superiors of Men Religious) in Campania, and since 2007, as Pro-Episcopal Vicar for Consecrated Life for the Archdiocese of Naples. Since 2009, he has been the Spiritual Assistant to the August Archconfraternity of the Most Holy Trinity of Pilgrims in Naples. He has dedicated himself to fostering the overseas missions (Madagascar and Argentina) of his Redemptorist confreres. He is a member of the College of Consultors and the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Naples.
