Reasoning Mode
Reasoning Mode gives you slower, more thorough, better-sourced answers for hard questions — moral dilemmas, complex doctrinal points, comparisons across documents, or anything that benefits from step-by-step thinking.
Turn it on
- In the chat box, click the + button.
- Turn on the Reason toggle.
- Send your prompt. The reasoning badge stays on until you turn it off or start a new chat.

What it does
Reasoning Mode uses a more capable AI model and additional planning steps. Expect:
- Answers that take longer to appear.
- More thorough citations.
- Better performance on multi-part questions.
Plan availability

Reasoning Mode is a Pro feature. On the Free plan, the toggle is marked Pro and selecting it sends you to the Plan page rather than running the question.
When to use Reasoning Mode
Good fits:
- "Compare what Vatican I and Vatican II say about papal authority."
- "Walk me step-by-step through the Church's teaching on just war."
- "Is this pastoral situation consistent with Catholic moral theology?"
Probably overkill:
- Short factual lookups (e.g. "Who is the patron saint of travelers?").
- Quick daily questions like today's Mass readings.
