Bishop of Agartala
Bishop Lumen Monteiro, Bishop of Agartala, was born on February 1, 1952, at Calangute, in the Archdiocese of Goa and Damão. He is a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross, in which he made his religious profession on May 30, 1974, and he was ordained a priest on October 28, 1980. On January 11, 1996, he was appointed Bishop of Agartala, and he received episcopal ordination on May 26, 1996, at Agartala. His episcopal motto is Lead us onward, and the patron of his diocese is St. Francis Xavier.
