Bishop of Alba
Bishop Marco Brunetti, Bishop of Alba, was born on July 9, 1962, in Turin, and is a native of Nichelino. He entered the diocesan minor seminary at Giaveno for his middle and secondary schooling and then the major seminary for his studies in preparation for the priesthood, taking a baccalaureate at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Turin, and he obtained a diploma in health-care pastoral theology at the Camillianum institute of health-care theology in Rome. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Turin on June 7, 1987. He served as parochial vicar of the parish of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles at Santena from 1987 to 1992, of the parish of Maria Madre della Chiesa from 1992 to 1993, and of the parish of San Giuseppe Artigiano at Settimo Torinese from 1993 to 1995. He was parish priest of Santa Maria di Testona at Moncalieri from 2001 to 2005 and of San Rocco at Trofarello from 2002 to 2005. From 1996 he was director of the archdiocesan office for the pastoral care of health, from 2005 also director of the three diocesan houses of clergy, from 2006 regional delegate for the pastoral care of health, and from 2010 a canon of the metropolitan chapter of the cathedral. He has been a member of the diocesan and regional presbyteral councils, diocesan delegate for elderly priests, a member of the national council for the pastoral care of health of the Italian bishops' conference and a member of the San Giuseppe Cafasso priestly fraternity, and he is the author of several publications on the pastoral care of health. On January 21, 2016, he was appointed Bishop of Alba. He received episcopal ordination on March 13, 2016, at Alba, with Cesare Nosiglia as principal consecrator and Severino Poletto and Giacomo Lanzetti as co-consecrators.
