Bishop Carlos Arturo Quintero Gómez

Monsignor Carlos Arturo Quintero Gómez was born on August 3, 1967, in Armenia, Quindío. He was ordained a priest on December 4, 1993, by H.E. Msgr. Roberto López Londoño—then Bishop of Armenia—and was incardinated into that diocese. He pursued his philosophical and theological studies at the *Nuestra Señora del Rosario* Major Seminary in Manizales. He studied Social Communication at the Pontifical Bolivarian University in Medellín and Psychology at the Catholic University of the North. His roles included: Co-director of Youth Ministry in the Diocese of Armenia (1994–1995); Parish Administrator in Montenegro, Quindío (1994); Chaplain to the Adoratrix Sisters and their affiliated school (1994); Director of the newspaper *El Derrotero* for the Diocese of Armenia (1994–1997, 2002–2007); and completing a degree in Social Communication at the Pontifical Bolivarian University (1997–2001). On December 12, 2018, he was appointed Bishop of Armenia by Pope Francis, receiving his episcopal ordination and taking canonical possession of the see on February 2, 2019.
