Bishop of Bandung
Bishop Antonius Subianto Bunyamin, O.S.C., was born on 14 February 1968 in Bandung. After primary school, he entered the minor seminary of Mertoyudan, where he continued his higher studies. He then entered the Order of the Holy Cross, completing philosophical and theological studies at the Catholic University of Bandung. He made solemn vows on 28 August 1994. He was ordained priest on 26 June 1996. He then held the following offices: in 1996-1999, studies for a licentiate in philosophy at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium; in 1999-2003, lecturer in philosophy at the Catholic University of Bandung; in 2003-2007, studies for a degree in philosophy at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome; in 2007-2010, O.S.C. vice provincial of Bandung and lecturer at the Catholic University of Bandung; from 2008, executive director of the Holy Cross Foundation for the Catholic schools of the Diocese of Bandung; from 2009, president of the steering committee of the Parahyangan Foundation, secretary of the Marga Asah Talenta Foundation, and secretary of FORPITU, the forum of provincials of religious congregations and of the UNIO in the Diocese of Bandung; in 2009-2010, president of the Legal Institute of Parahyangan University; in 2010-2013, O.S.C. provincial prior of Bandung; from 2010, member of the college of consultors and member of the diocesan pastoral council, responsible for drafting the pastoral guidelines of the Diocese of Bandung; and from 2011, member of the plenary of the Association of Catholic University Lecturers, APTIK. In 2013 he was reelected O.S.C. provincial prior of Bandung for a three-year term.
