Apostolic Exarch of Colombia (Maronite)
Priestly Ordination: 1995-12-23 Biography: Bishop Fadi Bou Chebl Abi Nassif was born in Deir el Kamar on 19 October 1969. He entered the Maronite Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 8 August 1988. He professed perpetual vows in the parish of Our Lady of Lebanon in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1994. He was ordained a priest in the Church of the Assumption-Dbayeh, Lebanon, on 23 December 1995. He was appointed spiritual director of the student brothers of the OMM order in 1998. He was bursar of the Convent of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, Shayle, from 1999 to 2003. He was then assigned to the Convent of Saint Anthony Abbot in Rome as master of the student brothers. From 2005 until 2016 he was spiritual director of Notre Dame Univercity-Louaize, NDU. On 16 November 2007 he was elected by APECL, the Assembly of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops of Lebanon, as national-level spiritual director of university pastoral ministry, for three mandates until 2016. He was appointed by Pope Francis on 12 January 2016 as apostolic exarch for the Maronite faithful of Colombia and delegate of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches for the Maronites of Ecuador and Peru, on the same date, and was titled mitred abbot by Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rai on 02 April 2016. Founder of the Maronite Exarchate of Saint Rafqa of Colombia. Active member of the Synod of the Maronite Church in Lebanon. Active member in the Colombian Episcopal Conference. Member of the ecclesiastical province of Bogota. He was a member of the Commission for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue in the Colombian Episcopal Conference.
