Toussaint Iluku Bolumbu is Bishop of Bokungu-Ikela, Congo [Dem. Rep.]. Reverend Father Toussaint Iluku Bolumbu, M.S.C., was born on 18 November 1964 in Monieka, in the Archdiocese of Mbandaka-Bikoro. After completing philosophy studies at the Saint Augustin Philosophate in Kinshasa, he entered the novitiate of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart from 1989 to 1990. He studied at the scholasticate in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from 1990 to 1993 and then from 1994 to 1995. After obtaining the baccalaureate in theology at the École Théologique Saint Cyprien of Ngoya-Yaoundé, he made perpetual vows in August 1994 and was ordained a priest on 23 July 1995. After ordination he carried out the following offices and further studies: studies for a licentiate in philosophy at the Faculty of Saint Pierre Canisius in Kimwenza-Kinshasa; assistant in the formation of postulants and philosophy students; assistant in Sainte Marie Madeleine Parish in Matete from 1995 to 1997; parochial vicar of Saint Michel d'Ikela in the Diocese of Bokungu-Ikela from 1997 to 1998; vice-rector and bursar of the M.S.C. scholasticate in Yaoundé and philosophy teacher at the Saint Joseph Mukasa Institute of Yaoundé from 1998 to 2000; licentiate in spiritual theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome from 2000 to 2002; formation course for formators at the same university from 2002 to 2003; vice-president of the Association of Major Superiors, ASUMA, of the Ecclesiastical Province of Mbandaka-Bikoro from 2003 to 2009; assistant of the General Secretariat of the General Chapter of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in Rome in 2005; moderator of the General Conference of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in Yaoundé in 2009; updating year at the Catholic Theological Union, C.T.U., in Chicago, United States, from 2009 to 2010; superior and director of formation of the M.S.C. scholasticate in Yaoundé and teacher of theology of consecrated life at the Saint Cyprien Institute of Ngoya in Cameroon from 2010 to 2016; and from 2016 superior of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart for the Francophone Region, which comprises the missionaries in Congo-Brazzaville, Congo-Kinshasa, Senegal, and Cameroon.
