Archbishop John Rodrigues

John Rodrigues was born on August 21, 1967, in Mumbai. He obtained a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome (2000–2002). He was ordained a priest on April 18, 1998, for the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Bombay. He held the following positions: Parochial Vicar at St. Michael’s in Mahim (1998–1999); Secretary to the Cardinal Metropolitan Archbishop of Bombay (1999–2000); and Professor of Dogmatic Theology (2002–2013) and Dean of Studies (2011–2013) at St. Pius X College in Goregaon. Appointed Titular Bishop of Deulto and Auxiliary Bishop of Bombay on May 15, 2013, he received episcopal ordination on June 29 of that year. He was transferred to the Diocese of Poona on March 25, 2023. John Rodrigues was born on August 21, 1967, in Mumbai, within the Archdiocese of Bombay. He was ordained a priest on April 18, 1998, for the Archdiocese of Bombay. Following his priestly ordination, he held the following positions: 1998–1999: Parochial Vicar at St. Michael Parish, Mahim; 1999–2000: Secretary to the Cardinal Archbishop of Bombay; 2000–2002: Licentiate studies in Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical Lateran University, Rome. Since 2002: Professor of Fundamental Theology and Dogmatic Theology at St. Pius X College, Goregaon; since 2010: Secretary of the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Bombay; since 2011: Dean of Studies at St. Pius X College, Goregaon.
