Bishop Thomas Pulloppillil, Bishop of Bongaigaon, was born on July 14, 1954, at Nadukani, in the Eparchy of Kothamangalam (Syro-Malabar). He was ordained a priest on April 6, 1981. On May 10, 2000, he was appointed Bishop of Bongaigaon, in Assam. He received episcopal ordination on August 20, 2000, with Thomas Menamparampil as principal consecrator and Joseph Mittathany and Robert Kerketta as co-consecrators.
