Archbishop Giovanni Intini

Bishop Giovanni Intini was born on 28 December 1965 in Gioia del Colle, Bari, in the diocese of Conversano Monopoli. He entered the Pontifical Pius XI Regional Seminary of Molfetta, and was ordained a priest on 29 June 1990, incardinated in the diocese of Conversano-Monopoli. He has held the following offices: parish vicar of the Cathedral Basilica of Conversano and spiritual father in the minor seminary (1990-1994); animator at the Regional Seminary of Molfetta (1995-1998); rector of the minor seminary of Conversano (1998-2007); parish priest of Maria Santissima della Natività in Noci (2007-2008); spiritual father of the Regional Seminary of Molfetta (2008-2014). He has also served as a teacher of Catholic religion, diocesan unitary assistant for Catholic Action and director of the Regional Vocations Centre. Since 2014 he has served as archpriest of the Maria Santissima della Madia Concathedral and zonal vicar for the historic centre, episcopal delegate for the ongoing formation of the clergy, young priests and permanent deacons, and member of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors. On 7 December 2016 he was appointed bishop of Tricarico and received episcopal consecration the following 22 February 2017. Within the Italian Episcopal Conference, he is a member of the Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith, Proclamation and Catechesis.
